How do I create a personal account?
  • On the Home Page, click the orange Register button.
  • Select your date of birth and time zone.  For account type, select Personal.  
  • Enter a valid Email Address and a Display Name (the name that will show on your account)
  • In City, start typing in the name of your city, then select it from a list.
  • Enter your Zip Code and Password (enter twice to confirm). 
  • Enter the text drawn in the picture into the field below it – this is to ensure that an automated program isn't creating the account.  If you can't see the letters, press the green arrows ( ) to get a new picture.
  • Read the Terms and Conditions and Privacy Policy carefully.  If you agree with them, click the "I accept" checkbox and click the orange Register button.
  • You will receive a confirmation email at your email address.

I can't register for an account.
  • Are you over the age of 13?
  • You must be at least 13 years old to register for a WTH account. 
  • Did you provide a valid email address?
  • If your email address is invalid, an account will not be created.
  • Did you receive a confirmation email?
  • Check your email application's spam or junk folder or filter.
  • If it's possible you mistyped your email, try registering again, making sure you entered your email address correctly.

I can’t log in to my account.
  • Make sure caps-lock is off.
  • Confirm that you have the correct password:
  • On the Home page, in the Sign-In box (upper right), click the link that says "Forgot Password".
  • Enter the email address you used to create your account.
  • Check your email – your password will be sent to you.

  • On the Home page, in the Sign-In box (upper right), click the link that says "Forgot Password".
  • Enter the email address you used to create your account.
  • Check your email – your password will be sent to you.
     

How do I change my password?
  • Log in to your account using your current password.
  • Go to the Profile page (use the top menu).
  • Click the Personal Information panel.
  • Click on the Password tab.
  • Enter your current password and your new password.
  • Click Change Password
  • Your password has now been changed.  Use the new password next time you log in to your WTH account.

How do I change my login ID

Your login ID cannot be changed.


How do I invite my friends to become WTH Members?
  • In the main menu click "Invite".  You can invite as many people as you like – separate email addresses with commas in the text box, or paste the personalized link into your favorite email program. 
  • You can view when you invited your friends and when they accepted in the "Invite History" tab. 

Other WTH Members

How do I add a Member to my contacts?
  • On the Member's profile page, under the photo on the left, click "Add To Contacts" OR
  • Scroll over the Member's photo, wherever it is displayed, and, in the box that pops up, click "Add To Contacts"

How do I delete a Contact from my list?
  • On your Profile, in the Contacts Panel, click "Edit Contacts".
  • Check ONLY the contacts you would like to DELETE
  • Click the "Delete Selected Contacts" button at the top of the page to delete checked contacts
  • OR
  • Click "Back To My Profile" to cancel deletions.

How do I know when another Member wants to add me as a contact?
  • In your Mailbox, next to the Contact Approvals folder, if you see a number in parentheses, there are messages from Members who want to add you as a contact. 
  • If there are no messages, you can find like-minded people by going to the top menu and selecting "People", then "Browse" to find Members to add to your Contacts.

How do I block another Member from sending me personal messages and requests/offer messages, or posting comments on my profile?
  • Scroll over the Member's photo, and, in the box that pops up, click " Block User "
  • OR
  • On the Member's profile page, under the photo on the left, click "Block User"

How do I un-block a user?
  • In the mail menu, go to "Profile", then "Blocked User".  Click "Unblock User" next to the one you want to unblock, then click "OK"

MailBox

Inbox
  • Contains Personal Messages sent to you.  To adjust Personal Message Preferences, click on the Personal Information Panel on your profile.  Once it expands, click "Edit" and make changes.

Sent
  • Contains Personal Messages you have sent to other Members.

Contact Approvals
  • Contains requests from other Members, to add you to their Contact list.

Group Invitations
  • Contains invitations to Groups from other Members.

My Items

What are My Items?
  • My Offers – Offers you created, and posted Offers to which you responded.
  • My Requests – Requests you created, and posted Requests to which you responded.
  • My Categories – Categories you joined.
  • My Blogs – Blogs you have written.
  • My Articles – Articles you posted, in all Categories.
  • My Favorites – All Forum Threads, Blogs, Offers and Requests you've Saved.
     

Getting Help

How do I request help?
  • Post a Request
  • In the main menu, go to "Requests", then "Create Request". 

Accept an Offer
  • Offers are posted on the Home page and on Category pages, and can be Browsed or Searched by clicking "Offers" in the main menu.  On any of these, click the green "Accept Offer" button to send the Member a message.
  • The Member will receive your message, and your request will appear under that Offer, wherever it's displayed.

How do I view member responses to my Request?
  • In the "My Items" Box, click on "My Offers" to see the list of your Offers.
  • Click the arrow ( ) to the left of the Offer name to see Member responses for that offer.   Click the message panel to see the Member's response.
  • To accept, just send the Member a message and let them know: scroll over the Member's photo and click Send Message.
  • To decline, click "Pass On This Offer" link next to the offer description, then click "OK" – please be careful with this option, because it's permanent for this offer.

How do I view my responses to posted Offers?
  • In the "My Items" Box, click on "My Offers", then click the "My Requests to People's Offers" tab.

How do I know if I'm going to get the Offer I accepted?
  • When you accept an Offer, the Member who posted it gets a personal message from you.  When the Member responds, the message will arrive in your Inbox.
     

Giving Help

How do I offer help?
  • In the main menu, go to "Offers", then "Create Offer".

Reply to a Posted Request
  • In the main menu, go to "Requests", then "Browse" or " Search Requests".

How do I view Member responses to my Offers?
  • In the "My Items" Box, click on "My Offers" to see the list of your Offers.
  • Click the arrow () to the left of the Offer name to see Member responses for that offer.   Click the message panel to see the Member's response.
  • To help, just send the Member a message and let them know: scroll over the Member's photo and click Send Message.
  • To decline, click "Decline" link next to the offer description, then click "OK" – please be careful with this option, because it's permanent for this request.

How do I know if my Offer was accepted?
  • When you respond to a Member Request, the Member receives a personal message.  When the Member replies, you will receive a person message in your Inbox.

How do I view my responses to posted Requests?
  • In the "My Items" Box, click on "My Requests", then click the "My Offers to People's Requests" tab.

Global Hearts

What is a Global Heart?
  • World Trade Help allows Members to thank each other for kindness and help by giving Global Hearts.  Members who post requests for help can give Global Hearts to other Members who respond to the request.

How do I get/give Global Hearts?
  • To give a Global Heart In the "My Items" box, click My Requests.  Click on the arrow ( ) next to the Request where you'd like to give a Global Heart.  Next to the Member you'd like to thank, in the Global Heart column, click the "Give Global Heart" link.
  • The only way to get a Global Heart is to give help!  When you respond to a request or post an Offer and help another Member, that Member has the option to give you a Global Heart.   Each time you get a Global Heart, you'll receive a personal message telling you who sent it.

How can I tell how many Global Hearts I have?
  • On your Profile page, your number of Global Hearts is under your picture.

How do I view my Global Heart history?
  • In the "My Items" Box, click on "My Requests", then click the "My Offers to People's Requests" tab.  In the Global Hearts column, you'll see which offers received Global Hearts.

I want to help, but I don't know what I can do.
  • That's GREAT!  We know you have something amazing to offer!  You can start by browsing help requests, to see what kinds of things people need.   Choose a Browse requests in Categories, if you'd like to help in a particular area.

Categories

What’s a Category?
  • Categories are specific areas of interest.  For example, the Environmental Category is for environmental issues and information, and the Education/Childcare/Training Category is for everything associated with those areas.

How do I use Categories?
  • Tag offers and requests with Categories, so Members interested in .
  • Go to the page and read blogs and articles.  Learn how you can help by looking at the requests and offers, and posting your own. 
  • Browse Members by category to find like-minded people.

What does it mean to join a category?
  • You would like to give or receive help in this category.
  • This category interests you. 
  • You can send emails to Members who limit their emails and requests to people in this Category.

How do I join a category?
  • On the Category page, click the orange "Join Category" button at the top of the page.

How do I add an article?
  • Go to the category and click the "Add Article" button above the "Articles" section.  In the form, fill in the title, paste in the text and press "Save".  You can also go to "My Articles" in the "My Items" Box and click "Add Article".

How do I leave a category?
  • In the "My Items" box, click on "My Categories".
  • Click "Leave Category", then click "OK".

How do I create a new category or subcategory?
  • Send us a message with your suggestion!  At the bottom of the page, click "Contact WTH" and put "New Category" in the subject line.
